Knifemaker, Jeweller from Snells Beach, New Zealand.
I have had a passion for making things with my hands since I was a kid in my father's workshop.
I’m always open to expanding my limits and I constantly try to learn new techniques and alternate applications of my normal tools. So if you have an odd idea, or just want to commission something you’ve seen me make before, feel free to send me an email.
I’ve always had a drive to learn by myself or find teachers for different crafts and have ended up dabbling in a little bit of everything.
Including bone carving, wood turning and cabinetry, greenstone carving, chainmail, tailoring and sewing, wax carving, Japanese traditional metal carving, printmaking, hand engraving, gem setting, bookbinding, 3d animation, cad design, hand tattooing, bonsai, fabric painting, crochet and knitting, repousse and chasing, metal inlay in the European and Japanese methods, along with a host of other crafts and techniques.
While I had dabbled with knifemaking in the past, I ended up training and working as a goldsmith and gem mounter before I fell back in love with knifemaking after attending a class four years ago.
I focus now on producing jewelry grade folding knives and simple but well designed kitchen and utility knives, and treat my jewellery as a hobby for when I need a change in pace.
