German Pattern Kitchen Knife

$300.00

This will make a great little all rounder for the kitchen, and at a slightly cheaper price with leaving it at a machine finish.

As per usual with my machine finish I've given this one an extra few hours in the stonewash to knock back the brightness and make it less of a worry with scratches from use.

Overall length 280

Blade: 160mm 2.7mm stock 52100 carbon steel, full flat grind to a .3mm edge, machine satin and stonewash.

Handle: 116mm Black Maire with black g10 pins and liners, full contour and taper both ways.

52100 is a high grade carbon steel that has added chromium among other components to greatly improve edge retention over that of regular carbon steel. While this does reduce the chance of rust, this should still be kept dry and oiled if its not being used for longer than a week.

Black Maire is a native tree from southern New Zealand that is a distant relative of the Olive tree. It is extremely dense and has a very high sap content in the dry timber making it perfect for a knife handle.
